PO - 1

Being able to construct and defend arguments on a certain topic within group discussion or individually.

PO - 2

Being able to analyze and evaluate general and specific information of various monologues and dialogues and identifying general and specific information of longer dialogues and monologues of non-authentic and authentic materials with various genres.

PO - 3

Being able to demonstrate effective public speaking and debate skills in informative, descriptive, and persuasive contexts using parliamentary debate systems, apply critical listening skills through analysis of complex audio-visual materials

PO - 4

Being able to use appropriate grammar, communication style, and clear pronunciation in speeches, and apply critical listening skills to analyze and respond effectively consistent with the CEFR Level B2 proficiency.

Deskripsi Singkat Mata Kuliah

This course aims to equip students with the skills necessary for effective and ethical oral communication, preparing them for diverse professional and personal situations, including those related to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The course focuses on enhancing public speaking, debating, and discussion skills, with an emphasis on critical thinking, argumentation, and active listening. Students will learn to construct and deconstruct arguments, engage in meaningful dialogues, and present ideas clearly and persuasively. Teaching methods include lectures, interactive seminars, group discussions, debates, speech delivery, presentations, critical analyses of recorded speeches, and peer reviews. Formative assessments will be based on oral presentations, participation in debates and discussions, written assignments analyzing arguments and speeches, and reflective journals on personal communication experiences. Summative assessment will involve a group-based project, creating a campaign video related to an SDGs issue. By the end of the course, students will be able to think critically and communicate effectively in diverse oral formats.

  1. Capaian Pembelajaran Lulusan Program Studi (PLO - Program Studi) adalah kemampuan yang dimiliki oleh setiap lulusan Program Studi yang merupakan internalisasi dari sikap, penguasaan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan sesuai dengan jenjang prodinya yang diperoleh melalui proses pembelajaran.
