Course Description

This subject provides students with knowledge of hospitality, travel, and tourism related terms and develops students‘ ability to communicate effectively in English at a customer liaison level within the hospitality, travel, and tourism industry. It covers the knowledge and practical abilities related to hotel accommodations, travel agencies, and tour guides. It also provides students with knowledge and practice of writing tourism advertising in the form of brochure/leaflet/booklet. All teaching learning activities are conducted through lecturing, small group discussions, presentations, role plays, and projects.

Program Objectives (PO)

  • Being able to produce clear and effective oral and written communications, including presentations and brochures, tailored to diverse tourism audiences and purposes
  • Being able to demonstrate confident and accurate English communication skills in tourism contexts, such as handling hotel reservations, check-ins, and guiding tourists
  • Being able to apply polite language and professional etiquette effectively in phone calls and face-to-face interactions within the tourism industry, showing resilience and customer-oriented attitude.
  • Being able to work effectively in teams by showing flexibility and collaboration, while bringing creativity and inclusivity to tourism-related projects
