Course Description
This Basic Concepts of Social Studies course is a course that provides students of Social Studies Education with an understanding of the basic concepts of Social Studies as a basis for study whose material is sourced from human life in society, whose aspects include geography, sociology, anthropology, economics, history, politics, skills and values. This course covers the substance of the field of Social Studies study, understanding the essence of concepts and the process of their formation, the scope of basic concepts of geography, sociology, anthropology, economics, history. This course is designed to develop students‘ thinking skills through inquiry activities, group investigations, case studies oriented towards solving social problems in society. The output of this course is a case study report that can be a reference for prospective teacher students in developing Social Studies learning.
Program Objectives (PO)
- Mampu menunjukkan nilai-nilai kebangsaan dan budaya nasional, serta etika akademik dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran konsep dasar IPS
- Mengembangkan pemikiran logis, kritis, sistematis, dan kreatif dalam melakukan pekerjaan yang spesifik di bidang rumpun ilmu social serta sesuai dengan standar kompetensi kerja bidang yang bersangkutan
- Menguasai konsep teoritis pedagogik rumpun ilmu soial sebagai landasan dalam praksis perencanaan pembelajaran IPS yang inovatif dan adaptif sesuai dengan kurikulum sekolah.
