Course Description
This course examines the physiology of sport and exercise, including immediate cardiovascular responses to exercise such as pulse rate, stroke volume, blood distribution during exercise, cardiovascular drift, as well as respiratory responses to exercise, ventilation and energy metabolism, understanding the principles of exercise, understanding how the body adapts to aerobic and anaerobic exercise, as well as understanding exercise in hot and cold environments, exercise at high altitudes, sports training, realizing the importance of body composition and nutrition for sports, ergogenics and sports, understanding how the physiological response of children and adolescents to exercise including the aging process and exercise. This lecture is carried out with presentations, discussions, project assignments, and reflection.
Program Objectives (PO)
- Mahasiswa mampu menjelaskan konsep dasar fisiologi latihan dan mekanisme homeostasis sebagai landasan dalam memahami respon tubuh terhadap latihan fisik
- Mahasiswa mampu menganalisis respon sistem kardiovaskuler, respirasi, dan muskular terhadap latihan, baik dalam kondisi akut maupun adaptasi kronis, serta menghubungkan dengan peningkatan kebugaran jasmani dan performa fisik
- Mahasiswa mampu mengevaluasi peran sistem saraf dalam pengaturan gerak dan performa olahraga, serta mengintegrasikan dengan aspek kesehatan, pencegahan penyakit, dan peningkatan kualitas hidup
- Mahasiswa mampu merancang dan mengimplementasikan prinsip fisiologi latihan untuk meningkatkan kinerja olahraga, memperhatikan faktor tumbuh kembang anak, gender, serta proses penuaan, berdasarkan hasil kajian ilmiah terkini
